Corrugated nanowires as distributed Bragg reflectors

چکیده

Abstract Distributed Bragg reflectors (DBRs), comprised of periodic refractive index changes, are widely used in optoelectronic devices as resonators, filters and sensors. The heterostructures required for DBRs can be difficult to implement nanostructures due poor compositional control on the nanoscale. In present paper, simulation results presented reflectance spectra from DBR structures that implemented using perturbations a nanowire (NW) diameter, rather than heterostructures. corrugated NW structure produce stopband with near unity. wavelength tuned by adjusting pitch arrays, corrugation depth, period corrugation. proposed presents new paradigm wide range nanoscale device applications.

Reflectance Mapping of Semiconductor Distributed Bragg Reflectors

We describe the design, construction and performance evaluation of a spectrally resolved reflectance mapping setup. The setup is capable of mapping a full 2 inch diameter semiconductor wafer, with a best spatial resolution of 50μm. The operating wavelength range is from 0.35μm to 1.05μm with spectral resolution of ~1nm. We have used this setup for reflectance mapping studies on distributed Brag...

Flexible Distributed Bragg Reflectors from Nanocolumnar Templates

Recently, another alternative route to the use of purely polymeric structures to attain fl exible Bragg mirrors, and in which enhanced dielectric contrast is achieved, has been successfully demonstrated. Use of distributed Bragg reflectors to enhance Fabry–Pérot lasing in vertically aligned ZnO nanowires

An optically pumped ZnO nanowire laser with a 10-period SiO2/SiNx distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) was demonstrated. Stimulated emissions with equally distributed Fabry–Pérot lasing modes were observed at pumping powers larger than 121 kW/cm2. This result, when compared to nanowires of the same length and without a DBR structure, shows that a lower threshold of pumping power, higher quality fa...

Self-Assembled InAs Nanowires as Optical Reflectors

Subwavelength nanostructured surfaces are realized with self-assembled vertically-aligned InAs nanowires, and their functionalities as optical reflectors are investigated. In our system, polarization-resolved specular reflectance displays strong modulations as a function of incident photon energy and angle. An effective-medium model allows one to rationalize the experimental findings in the lon...

Fabrication of large-area patterned porous silicon distributed Bragg reflectors.

A process to fabricate porous silicon Bragg reflectors patterned on a micrometer lateral scale over wafer areas of several square centimeters is described. This process is based on a new type of projection system involving a megavolt accelerator and a quadrupole lens system to project a uniform distribution of MeV ions over a wafer surface, which is coated with a multilevel mask. In conjunction...
